INDEXES TO CLASSIC SHERLOCKIAN WORKS

Having publically bemoaned the fact that so many Sherlockian reference works come sans index, I thought it might make sense to do something to remedy the situation.

All the indexes are in rtf format, because it seemed to be a good idea at the time but once you've downloaded them you can convert them into word documents, or whatever.

I've tried to be as comprehensive in the indexing as possible, including all specific mentions of stories & characters from the canon, as well as less specific references and allusions: I have tried to locate all unattributed quotes, for example. Outside the canon I have included all proper names (people, places, organisations, etc.), and all topics of importance. Seemingly less relevant entries are included for those, like me, who can't remember the name of the French general who asked about Holmes's war service, but know that it was on the same page as the French schoolboys looking for Baker Street.

New indexes will be added as and when I feel like it.

NEW: For reasons of space (and to improve download times) all indexes, unless stated otherwise are now offered only as Zip files. If you cannot cope with this email me from the link at the bottom of the page and I will send them in .rtf or .doc format.
