A ventriloquist's dummy is delieverd to the home of Sherlock Bones, and asks him to find its owner, the Great Chatto. Bones deduces the location of the ventriloquist's captors by throwing bricks over the the rooftops. A trapdoor leads Bones and What's-on to the Great Chatto and a joke-telling dog.
